What is a match club?
Bowling match clubs are "traveling bowling teams" comprised of bowlers from all skill levels, who are USBC members. Matches are bowled by four men/women teams against other clubs on a home and away basis, with the losing club paying the lineage.
What are the advantages of joining a match club?
How often do you compete?
We compete against match club teams in Northern Nevada and Northern California. Matches are frequently played on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings. The number of matches vary each month, though we bowl approximately 24 weekends annually, in Nevada and California combined. We do ask that members bowl at least three out-of-town matches each year. As a member, you choose the matches you want to play - you are only obligated to bowl the matches you sign up for. When we are bowling in Reno, our homecenter is High Sierra Lanes.
What is the cost to play?
High Sierra Match Club bowling fees are $10 per month. In addition, bowlers are assessed fines - according to the following established schedule: Bowlers are assessed .50 cents per game for each game bowled below their average and $1.00 for series below average at all matches.
There is a mark frame set for each game. Any member who does not get a mark in that frame will be assessed .25 cents.
There is a $3.00 general assessment for both home and away matches.
Who can join High Sierra Match Club?
Anyone 18 years or older, who has a current league average of 21 games or more and who is a member in good standing with the USBC and bowls in a league at High Sierra Lanes is welcome to complete a membership application either online or by printing and mailing it - see below. Our membership votes on prospective applications.
